Life sciences influence many aspects of our everyday lives, political decisions, economy and the world around us. Understanding DNA, the basic building block, has enormous consequences on future health care, medical devices and our way of life. The lack of public understanding of basic biology and genetics is a serious concern. How would you educate the public on the importance of DNA and science awareness? Using this video or art contest rubric as a guide, capture the complexity of “DNA Connections” with a digital video featuring original or prerecorded animation, images, movie clips, voiceovers, and music. Or, create an original artwork to convey this year’s theme.
ELIGIBILITY:
Student or student teams of active SCCBEPers. A SCCBEPer is a teacher who has been trained by SCCBEP or BABEC and is actively using either the mobile kits or consumables materials during this academic year.
