Oakland Unified's Science Department organizes two Dinner with a Scientist events for Oakland teachers, students, and local scientists to celebrate science each year. This year, the events will take place at the Snow Building in the Oakland Zoo and will include a semi-formal dinner with opportunities for structured conversations, speakers, and activities. The scientists represent a wide range of professions including engineers, doctors, forensic scientists, field biologists, research scientists, and graduate students. We are looking for volunteers and local scientists who would like to share their work with teachers and students. Ideally, we want are looking for compelling stories and scientists of color.
