Our annual Science and Engineering Fair will take place next Thursday afternoon February 10th at Mt. Vernon High School. We are still in great need of judges. Some of you have already responded to confirm that you will be able to come-Thank you! If you have not let us know your availability please shoot us an email at 'cameron dot rohrkemper at fcps dot edu' at your earliest convenience letting us know if you will be able to judge and what category(s) you feel most comfortable in. Below is the schedule for the afternoon of the 10th:
1:00-1:30pm Judges Arrive and Check In
Each judge will receive a folder containing information about judging criteria as well as assigned project abstracts. You will have time to have some light refreshments and review the abstracts and criteria while the students are setting up their boards.
2:05-2:30pm Student Board Set Up
2:30-5:00pm Judging
Judges will interview and assess each of their assigned projects according to the rubric
5:00-6:00pm Convening
Judges will gather by category to determine a first, second, third place as well as any honorable mentions.
6:00-7:00pm Open House
A panel of judges who are willing to stay a little later will revisit the projects that placed in each category to determine an overall first, second and third place winner
7:00-7:30pm Awards Ceremony
