Dear Potential Science Fair Judge:
The Santa Clara Unified Science Fair Committee would like to invite you to be a judge at the Annual Science Faire to be held, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Wilcox High School. Please notice that the date and place have changed this year. Judges will receive training Wednesday morning and will be needed from 8:00 am to noon. Breakfast goodies will be served during the training.
The purpose of the Science Fair is to encourage students to pursue a personal inquiry and heighten their interest in science. You do not need to be an “expert” in science to be a judge. You do need to be enthusiastic and supportive of the work the students are presenting. Judging includes an interview with each student and a scoring rubric with comments from the judges. Judges who have participated in past years have found the experience to be interesting and rewarding.
Please RSVP to Marie Bacher at 423-3260 or mbacher@scusd.net by Friday, April 29, 2011.
Sincerely,
Marie
