I am currently working professionals and educators to develop a competency based, universally designed, STEAM integrated curriculum. This seamless modular pathways will allow for the elimination of grade levels by having students move though the curriculum by showing mastery through application. K12 Next Generation curriculum will be built in a gaming environment. Project Based and Problem Based Learning will be our guide creating modules that will be oriented to real life situations. We are starting with grades 6-8 and then adding 2 each year. We hope to open the K12 Next Generation Academy in the fall of 2012, allowing us the opportunity to collect data, refine modules, etc. Our hopes are that eventually this curriculum may be a prototype that can be used in any school - any where. I would welcome all minds wishing to work on such a project whether it be just brainstorming ideas or actually helping to develop a module. I am happy to share our white paper with anyone interested.
