The North Bay's Bay Area Science Festival organizers are looking for local STEM Professionals to visit classrooms. The usual request is for the presenter to bring along "something cool" for the kids that is related to the their area of study and discuss with students what got them started on their career path. Another possible format would be a brown-bag lunch with students at a school for an informal discussion of your area of expertise and your career growth.
These would occur during the week of the science festival (Oct. 31-Nov.4) and could cover any number of grade levels, depending upon requests. We would work to connect teachers with BioCommunity and the professionals willing to go into classrooms.
