The 2013 Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Science Fair will be held on March 1 with judging beginning at 12:30 P.M. Our science fair is a project-based-assessment grade for all science students and is followed by a hands-on science outreach night for the school and community. Last year there were over 300 projects from grades 3-11 with more than 800 in attendance. This year we are expanding the fair and are looking for three things:

1. Judges and Tabulators
2. Science Outreach Booths
3. Prizes for Student Scientists and Donations for Organizing the Fair

Judges:
Interacting with student scientists at the fair is a delicate process: our students come from many backgrounds, some are passionate and clearly excel in science, and for others (even at the high school level) this will be their first attempt at original research. The fair seeks to celebrate the efforts of ALL students while publicly recognizing the exemplary contributions of others. If you have a passion for students and would like to share your STEM joy at our event, we would love to have you there. This is about a 3-hour time commitment.

Tabulators: Do you put the "M" in STEM? Do you love to organize? We'd love your help streamlining and developing a better system for judging our science fair and making sure that all entries are quickly accurately tabulated so that student prizes reflect their hard work! If you aren't available the night of the fair, but have advice or experience to loan with science fair scoring we would love your assistance.

Science Outreach Booths:
Please, put the "Fair" in our science fair! If you are affiliated with a STEM Organization that is looking for booth-based or demonstration-based outreach opportunities with K-12 students and their families, please contact us!

Prizes and Donations:
Does your organization have a box of 500 plastic lanyards that you don't know what to do with? Our student scientists would love to have "Presenter" badges. Would your company or organization like to sponsor prizes for the fair? Would an individual from your organization like to come to the fair and pick a project to receive special recognition?
