This symposium will bring around 300 Iowa middle school students, their teachers and a community business member to the University of Iowa, in Iowa City on May 4, 2010, for a one day symposium exploring the careers and opportunities for collaborative work when simulations are used in the health sciences, engineering, and travel. The purpose of this symposium is to open wide the eyes of our youth to the possibilities in STEM careers and to foster collaboration between education and STEM business to foster excitement in STEM. We are focusing this around National Lab Day as students will be engaging in activities in the laboratories on the campus of the University of Iowa.
It is sponsored by the Iowa Math and Science Coalition -working for over 20 years bringing together leaders in business, education & communities to positively impact STEM education in Iowa and the University of Iowa
