The bridge builder program connects with the TRAX program of the Department of Transportation. Students can use the the TRAX program to design and test bridges on the computer and build and test a model bridge in class, as well as gain first hand experience from a DOT-I guest engineer.
I am not sure of how to connect with the Department of Transportation for Illinois for this program, but I worked at a school in Michigan last year where it was already present. It would be a great opportunity for students to experience.
This program would probably be implemented next year, October 2010.
